This sequel was released in June 19, 1981. It is the only Superman film to be helmed by two directors, Richard Lester and Richard Donner.
It picks up from where “Superman: The Movie” left off, three criminals from the planet Krypton are released from the Phantom Zone by a massive nuclear explosion in space. Lex Luthor then joins forces with these three criminals to destroy our hero, who is dealing with sacrificing his powers in order to marry Lois Lane.
